11'' HAND CRAFT 40S WARTIME SOLDIER EMBROIDERED CLOTH FACE, CLOTH DOLL,UNIFORM, BLACK HAIR

magnificent folk art historic dolls.. about 11 1/2 inches tall these came together from one estate.. three soldiers and two Island dolls all made similarly with embroidered faces, this fellow has nice detailed looped black WOOLY hair, embroidered blue eyes, lashes, red lips, cheek blush, .. and in a twill type army boxy jacket with baggy pants and neat boots.. this material looks to be the same material the military actually used.. army socks on his hands, cloth body, very unique and handsome he does not have a wire stand like his comrade, but has wire armatures extending from his heels ... has a nice military cap as well. nice heavy material for his shoes or boots..,, blue shirt or tie. and a patch on his left arm like a rainbow, blue, yellow and red half circle.. nicely made.. very old, don't see any actual wear, the uniform looks hand stitched... his fellow companion has a badge on one arm The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration UNRRA.. so they could have been stationed overseas. The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) was established by agreement of 44 nations on 9 November 1943; operations came to an end in the latter part of 1946, with the last staff appointment terminating 31 March 1949. The purpose of UNRRA was to "plan, co-ordinate, administer or arrange for the administration of measures for the relief of victims of war in any area under the control of any of the United Nations through the provision of food, fuel, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities, medical and other essential services".[1] quote from wikkipedia... UNRRA provided billions of US dollars of rehabilitation aid, and helped about 8 million refugees. It ceased operations in the Displaced Persons camps of Europe in 1946, and in Asia in 1949, upon which it ceased to exist. Its functions were transferred to several UN agencies, including the International Refugee Organization. on wikkii about this organization so it is between 1943 and 1946 or 1949.. if you have any history on these soldier war time dolls please advise.... inventory 169 AND THE AMOUNT of work to do his hair., seems like it is all individually sewn in, NICELY DONE JET BLACK LOOPED hair, believe it could be made from knitting yarn.. just had this handsome fellow analyzed and he is in summer uniform, airforce it seems,, AUCTION IS FOR ONE SOLDIER DOLL ONLY and on the left side of the pictures. a very similar series of these dolls are shown in the Book of Canadian dolls, 1940s. filed br ff ok inventoried bin 6 br  br 10 2020 bin ok with his mates
