Description 14 inch 1940S COMPOSITION MARY HOYER DOLL.. HER HISTORY.. 1937-1946 Mary Hoyer doll, 14" tall, all composition jointed doll, mohair wig After 1946 the MaRy Hoyer dolls were made of hard plastic and are often marked; ORIGINAL Mary Hoyer Doll Made in USA (some composition dolls have this marking too) and some dolls were marked: Made in USA within a circle without the Mary Hoyer name and could be dolls bought, dressed and sold by other doll makers, The Mary Hoyer Doll company closed in the 1970 HER back says THE MARY HOYER LARGE LETTERING AND RAISED..... she has a bit of wear overall not bad. wearing a blue crochet two piece outfit which needs freshening and a hat to match.. reddish soft hair like mohair, long white socks and white tie shoes.. she has matching blue undies.. not mint perfect, her hair needs grooming, she just needs some attention... she has nail polish on her finger tips, bit of wear on her fingers.. have not taken the shoes off.. Her head is a bit loose. nice face, sleep eyes, blue eyes, bit of a rub end of nose.. filed lr 10 2023 inv bin INV 1792.. Around 1937 Mary approached Bernard Lipfert a well known doll sculptor, to create her own doll, it was a composition doll, that was produced by the Fiberoid Doll Products Co. in New York, for the Hoyer company. These dolls will often be marked: The Mary Hoyer Doll in raised print. Dolls are all composition, wigged, most have blue sleep eyes with a lid above the eye (some are brown), real upper lashes, painted lower lashes and a closed mouth. Some dolls have painted eyes with painted lashes, these may be from the era of World War II (1935-1949), when supplies were hard to come by. her shoes are a cloth type tied white vintage shoe. also took one sock and shoe off and her toes are painted, not well done. sorry Please choose appropriate destination.
