beautifully created folk art dolls as I received them with a written history of these characters from England, about 12 inches tall on wood round stands. each has an enamel painted water type jug hand made by Pamela Barlow in England, sticker on the bottom of the lovely decorated can he is carrying, she has one too but it is not attached to her. these cans or pails are quite heavy and of some metal material... vinyl plastic doll, she is dressed as a canal Boat woman, , painted black boots, long black skirt, long white half apron, purple blouse, white bonnet with lace with a pretty blue pail.. maker is D&P Barlow, Barton Gate, Quickley Lane, Chorleywood Herts England circa 1980. she looks like a Tammy type doll. the history of the artist is that she took a canal trip and then decided to dress three dolls to represent the Canal People at the turn of the century. 1900.. Boat Man and woman carry water cans which are hand painted.. reference to these characters in Doll World Magazine, April 1980 page 48. the price shown is for either the woman or the boat man choose girl or boy in the menu.. inventory 1644. these were expensive when purchased in 1980.. and our Boat man, choose boy in the menu is very handsome, plastic doll, longer grey vest, black pants, cummerbund, white peasant blouse and a yellow cravat... his name is Derek.. Her name is Pamela. he is the Boat man on the English Canada circa 1900., his water pail is black with painted flowers and yellow handle and trim. advise which character you wish, we combine shipping. Derek is wearing big black boots on a wood stand ..
