12'' U.K.1900 BARLOW CANAL BOATMAN / WOMAN/ CHILD DOLLS STAND PAIL

beautifully created folk art dolls as I received them with a written history of these characters from England, about 12 inches tall on wood round stands. each has an enamel painted water type jug hand made by Pamela Barlow in England, sticker on the bottom of the lovely decorated can he is carrying, she has one too but it is not attached to her. these cans or pails are quite heavy and of some metal material... vinyl plastic doll, she is dressed as a canal Boat woman, , painted black boots, long black skirt, long white half apron, purple blouse, white bonnet with lace with a pretty blue pail.. maker is D&P Barlow, Barton Gate, Quickley Lane, Chorleywood Herts England circa 1980. she looks like a Tammy type doll. the history of the artist is that she took a canal trip and then decided to dress three dolls to represent the Canal People at the turn of the century. 1900..
