17'' 1930S COMPOSITION MADAME ALEXANDER NUN DOLL, BLACK WOOL HABIT ,HEADPIECE, WHITE COLLAR #817

i WOULD call this a rare doll cannot find any information about her and as I glean more info or even find a reference to her in any doll book will add more information.. in summary she is exquisite, about 17 inches tall believe I am the third owner.. very nice condition for her age,, all composition and marked on back of head mm Alexander .. Pictures are hard to take accurately as she is all dressed in black except for the large white collar.. wool gown with pleated bodice and the most magnificent long and full black cape that attaches to head covering,, white head covering also and she is not wearing any hair, as I received her and a lot of nun dolls do not have hair.. I believe she has the margaret heart shaped face, closed pursed mouth, beautiful face, stockings are black to the knee and very old black shoes.... The previous owner had her for 14 years and was a Hummel collector and this nun represented Sister Hummel in her massive collection of Hummel dolls and figurines.. cannot see any damage, would be unplayed with, these dolls are for representation only and display, not for play value.. Also one site mentioned they would not undress their nun doll due to respect of the Order.. Good point and I will follow that guidance.. I would not want to undress this doll,, I slipped her headdress back and showed the smooth head.. This doll is a treasure and I am asking that she would travel to an exceptional home where she will be loved and respected. Very hard to find Madame Alexander nun dolls of this quality and era.. If anyone has further information on this particular doll please contact me.. she is wearing the most unique and different huge long rosary.. as I received her.. thank you.. inventory 817.. I do not see any lifting,, very faint fine crazing in spots, have not checked her over thoroughly she appears in lovely condition.. small line near the corner of her eye.. filed ok LIVING room cabinet adhop filed ok bin ok
