2496 1948 LONG FLARE BUTTON DRESS,CAPELET PATTERN 20 1/2

Description so vintage, SOME WEAR ON PATTERN JACKET DATED 1948 AND THIS IS SIMPLICITY 2496 SIZE 20 1/2, believe that is designed for a shorter stature person... covers bust 39, waist 33, and hip 42 now that hip would be the 7 inches below waist compared to 9 inches below waist today... one pc dress in half size. dress seamed at either side of the center front and back is secured with a front button closing. a self or purchased belt may be used.. style 1 topstitching accents the front seams.. neckline is U shape and the cap sleeves feature a bias fold at the lower edge.. style 2 has a capelet which joins to the side front and back seams. A high round neckline finishes the dress. use silks or rayon crepe, foulard, surah, rayon gab, or flannel, shantung, cotton broadcloth, linen etc.. very nice dress just a bit of wear, cut and checked out ok all accounted for.
