The Five Gaiter, a Saddlebred stallion, was introduced in about 1961 with a "CHess" engraving and the round "Breyer Molding Co." stamp. The "U.S.A." stamp was added sometime around 1971, and sometimes appears with the "B" stamp. Models released from 1961 to the 1970s had a tassel of ribbon over the mane and onto the top of the off side mane (shown above), after which time the tassel was nipped off. The model was sculpted by Chris Hess and is Breyer mold #52. I have identified this great show horse as described online..
